BUSINESS FORMATION.
(To -the Editor.) Sir —I am desirous of learning facts in regard to the formation of a small manufacturing business as follow: (1) Is it necessary to register a business and the approximate cost of same? (2) The price for obtaining a registered trade mark? (3) Is it necessary to register a manufactured article for sale? The business would be wholesale and the manufacturing would be carried out 12 miles outside of the borough. I C j^ OSLEY
The above letter was referred to the Palmerston North branch of the hour Department, and it was explained that that department was interested only in respect of the first matter mentioned. Replies to the other tv o queries could be obtained on application to the Department of Industries and Commerce, Wellington. In regard to the first question, it was explain«l that the factory would have to be registered under the Factories Act and the yearly fee for that is is follows: Up to one person employed Is, up to 8 persons ss, up to 15 persons 10s, up to 20 persons £1 Is.
