SCHOOLBOY’S DEATH.

CORONER’S VERDICT. Per Press Association. DANNEVI LIKE, April 23. An inquest .concl tided to-day concerning tne death of Claucle William Burlace, of Pahatawa, who was killed in a collision with a motor-car near Dannevirke while cycling home from school on April 7. The evidence of two companions showed that deceased who was carrying a school-bag strapped to the handle-bar of his bicycle, swerved into the middle of the road in front of the .second of two cars coming, in the opposite direction, and collided with a car driven by Mr J. W.-It. Sherratt, of Masterton, being killed instantly. Mr Sherratt’s evidence was to the same effect. He said he had no opportunity of avoiding the boy. Evidence was given by various witnesses of the speed at which they estimated the two cars- were travelling when approaching the cyclists. The Coroner returned a verdict that deceased died from a Picture of the skull and laceration of the brain, consequent on being knocked down by a car driven by Sherratt. ■, I
