There was an attendance of about 600 at the crowning ceremony at the Drill Hall, on Monday night,_ which brought _ to a close the Queen Ci.rnival activities, hollowing a fanfare of trumpets and the orchestral overture there entered the Sword Bearer (Mr T. If. Williams), followed by the Bold Mayor (Mr 11. P. Horne), Bnttania (Miss D. Smith), the High Chancellor (Mr J. C. Bolton) and the Master’ of Ceremonies (Mr R. R. Johnston), ,'fhc procession was made up as follows: 'two heralds, Margaret Hares and Margaret Symes, the Crown Bearer, Valerie Noble, and the Mace Bearer, Molly Mcl’eak; the Queen (Miss Joan Peebles) with an ermine wrap lined wit.li scarlet, which was hold by Dorothy Peebles and Xonia Desmond. When renominated for the office of president, Mr D. Kcay stated ho xvas not seeking re-election owing to pressure of his other duties. On behalf of the members, Mr 'J'. 11. Williams expressed the appreciation of Mr ICeay’s assistance Appreciative reference was made of trie services given the club by Mr W. Galbraith as treasurer. Mr Galbraith did not -seek re-election. A resolution of sympathy with Mr and Mrs \V.. L. Burlace in their recent bereavement” xvas passed. Mr S. Worboys presided at thq_ annual meeting, last evening, of the Woodvillc Hockey Club, in the unavoidable absence of the president (Mr W. A. Lyon). The following officers xvere elected: —Pgtron, Dr P.
