REPAIRS TO TANKER.
A BIG UNDERTAKING. SYDNEY, April 22. Repairs to the Norwegian tanker Vardas, which struck a reef near Cape Moreton, will constitute one of the biggest jobs ever tackled at the Cockatoo Dockyard, Sydney, Where • the vessel is now being overhauled. When all the buckled plattes have been stripped off an attempt will be made to straighten the badly bent, keel. Meanwhile the hull is in two sections, which will later be rejoined. The work is expected to occupy many months.
