At about 9.30, last evening, the Palmerston North Fire Brigade received a false call which, however, was justified, to the new Mayfair Theatre, the alarm being given by a passerby who noticed black smoke issuing from the premises. When the brigade arrived it was found that braziers which were Sused by workmen inside the ng were the cause of the smoke. J}y special arrangement, lieuter's world service, in addition to other special sources of information, is used in the compilation c/ the overseas intelligence published in this issue, and all rights therein in Australia and New Zealand are reserved.
