BOWLING
m EASTER TOURNAMENT ' * b SECOND DAY’S PLAY. r > Excellent weather, to-day again favoured the continuation of the Manawatu Bowling Centre’s Easter rinks tournament. The greens were playing better than was the case yesterday. With the fourth round completed before the luncheon adjournment there were only four rinks which had scored the maximum number of wins, those being skipped by J. A. Nash (Palmerston North) in the A section, P. 0. Skoglund (Northern) in the B section and E. Bary (Palmerston North) and E. Hicks (Oroua) in the C section. A surprise in this morning’s play was the decided defeat of Perry (Thorndon) at the hands of E. Anderson (Terrace End). The final score was 21—5. In the first eight heads Anderson put on 11 points to Perry’s two. Perry did not score on the next two heads, in which Anderson raised his total to 17. Perry then gained two singles, the> score being 17—4 on the 12th head. When the loth head was reached Perry scored another single to malre the scores 21—5 and at that stage the '-game was concluded. Perry had enjoyed three wins yesterday and Anderson only one. ' DETAILED RESULTS. The following are the results of this morning’s play:— SECTION A. (Fourth round.)
