ST. PAUL’S CHURCH.
The St. Paul’s Methodist Church quaVterly meeting was held on AVednesday, Rev. A. N. Scotter, 8.A., presiding. There was only a fair attendance, probably due to the near approach of Easter. Work for the concluding period shows an advance on last quarter, and efforts are in operation which should lead to progress in the near future.
Votes of deep sympathy with bereaved members, Airs C. J. E. East and Mrs Millar, were passed by the meeting, the chairman feelingly referring to the great losses the Church had sustained in recent months.
The financial statement was presented bv Mr W. H. J "Watson, who was thanked foV careful work in this direction.
Mr E. Lock presented the youth report showing continued activity in the Bible classes and Sunday schools. A discussion followed, which the chairman hoped would prove helpful to the workers in these sections of the Church. It was mentioned that Miss B. Baillie had now complete charge of the primary department and was doing good work. In a general discussion the question of the proposed men’s club, or fellowship was again ventilated. Consideration, it was stated, was being given to the matter and it was hoped the organisation would take shape during the coming winter. The membership total is now 238.
