BUNNYTHORPE

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE, April 8. Mr and Mrs T. Paseoe, who have been on a motoring, holiday during the past three weeks, have returned heme. % A meeting of those interested in trie .Miniature Rifle Club took place at the range on Monday evening. Mr W. B. iDutliic presided, and explained position of the club. -It had quite a fair fund in hand, and rifles and cups for competition, and an effort was being made to get the club going again. There being a small attendance, it was decided to hold a further meeting after the holidays. - The monthly meeting of the sciiool committee was held on Monday, these present being Messrs F. McKenzie, D. Ileggie and 0. Jackson. Apologies N for absence were received from Messrs Cl. Duthic and \V. T. Maxwell. The headmaster’s report recorded a roll of 99, with an average attendance of 93. The report on the grounds and building was received, and Mr Hoggic is to visit for the month. General business was considered, and accounts were passed for payment. As the meeting was the final one before the householders* meeting, the chairman conveyed thanks to the committee. lie also referred to the good feeling between Mr Abraham (the headmaster) and staff,, and the committee.

On Tuesday afternoon, at the residence of Mrs Robson, Robert’s Line, a party was ,he!d to honour Miss W. Raneon, who is to be married shortly. The gathering was arranged by . former members of the Ladies’... Hockey Club, of which Miss Ran-t son was a prominent player. There were also many interested friends present. Musical items and games were enjoyed, and afternoon tea served. In presenting iY!is» Ranson with a tea service, Miss But" lor, captain of the club for a number years, referred to the keen interest displayed in hockey by Miss Ranson, and extended best wishes' on behalf of the former members of the club. Other gifts wore received by the guest of honour. Thanks were conveyed to Mrs Robson, for allowing the function to be held at her residence, and to Misses W. and E. Robson for their assistance.
