CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW.
The annual Chrysanthemum Show will be staged in the Empire Hall on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18. As there are many keen growers of this popular flower, a good display can be expected. In addition, there- will be many seasonal flowers on exhibition. The shows staged by the Palmerston North Horicultural Society compare very favourably with those held in the larger centres, and the support of the public is requested, to show appreciation of the society’s work. Patrons will remember the beautiful display at the recent Dalilia Show, when in addition to the flowers, the decorative section was an outstanding feature. The section for members of the Chrysanthemum Club should draw many entries. In this section the chief trophies are Mrs Stidolph’s shield .in the open class, and Mr W. Grey’s cup in the amateur class. In all the sections goocl points prizes have been allotted. Besides the chrysanthemum • classes, there are sections for other cut blooms, vegetable, fruit, domestic and decorative. Schedules are obtain able at the florists.
