MENDEL’S PROGRAMME. ALEXANDRIA, April 6. Mcnzel, the Czech player, who played in a tournament here, announced that he had played .in Ins last competition. He stated: Tennis is a wholetime job. I cannot afford it. I must devote my time to writing. Menzel won the singles from Henkel, 3 0, o—2,0 —2, 5 —7, 6—o, B—4. FRENCH DAVIS CUP TEAM. PARIS, April 6. Borcfrta, owing to lack of time, has declined the captaincy of the Davis Cup team in place of Lacoste.
