FAIR TO FINE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 8. An intense anti-cyclone still extends from the eastwards on to New Zealand. A rather deep depression covers the western Tasman Sea. Forecast: Light to moderate northerly winds, later freshening gradually. Weather: Fair to fine and mild. Seas, slight to moderate. RAINFALL AT TIRITEA. Records of the rainfall taken at Tiritea durum March by Mr P. C. Toms are as follow:—2nd, 1.35 in ; 3rd, .03; Bth, .15; 9th, .29; 20th, .01; 21st, .13; 22nd, .01; 23rd, .04; 26th, .53; 27th, .07; 29th, .03; total, 2.64. Rain fell on 11 days, the maximum daily fall being 1.35 in. on the 2nd. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. ' Noon. —lit 9in.
