(From Our Own Correspondent.) KAIRANGA, April 6.
Last Saturday afternoon an enjoyabio game of tennis tvas played on the local courts between fearns representing Kairanga B and Bunnythorpe B. Afternoon tea was served in the supper room by the local ladies. Bunnythorpe won by a very narrow margin of , 9 sets gnd 78 games to 7 sets and 75 games. Following are detailed results, that local players being mentioned first:' —Ladies’ singles: Miss E. Green lost to Miss J. Sinclair. 5—6; Mrs Mitchell beat Miss B. Chdethnni, 6—4; Miss G. Jackson lost to Mrs Greig, 4—6; Miss N. Jackson lost to Miss G. Linklater, 4—6. Men’s singles: C. Sheorin beat R. Mitchell, 6—3; H. Turner lost to H. Godfrey, 4—6; W. Harrison lost to N. Mitchell, 2—6; C. Hyde beat J. Baker, 6—5. Ladies’ doubles: Miss Green and Mrs Mitchell beat Misses Sinclair and Cheetharn, 6—l; Misses G. and N. Jackson beat Mrs Greig and .Miss Linklater, 6—3. Men’s doubles: Sheerin and Turner beat Mitchell and Godfrey, 6—5; Harrison and Hyde lost to X. Mitchell and Baker, 5—6. Mixed doubles: Mists Green and Sheorin beat Miss Sinclair and Mitchell, 6 —3; Mrs Mitchell and.,Turner lost to Miss Cheetharn and Godfrey, 4 —6; Miss G. Jackson and Harrison lest to Mrs Greig and N. Mitchell, 1 2 —6; Miss N. Jackson and Hyde lost to Miss Linklater and Baker, 3—6. The Kairanga A team journeyed to Bunnythorpe to play the local A team, who were beaten by 10 sets to 6. Mrs P. G. Mildon and Mr Mildon have left on an extended holiday visit to Sydney.
