SPILLANE CUP.
TOURNAMENT AT GISBORNE. ST. PATRICK’S COMPETING. Leaving for the East Coast early on Friday morning, the senior team of the St. Patrick's Football Club, Palmerston North, will compete in the Spillane Cup (Marist) Rugby tournament at- Gisborne on Saturday and Easter Monday. Those 'selecte dto make the trip are. Backs: Richards, Hawick, Gillespie (2), Hallamore, Delanv, Hehir, McTvewen, Edlin Forwards: Heeney, Sears, Madgwick, Whyte. Powell, Simmonds, Fitzpatrick, Ross and allowav. Their first match will be against Gisborne Celtic on Saturday morn- 1 ing. Eight teams are taking part in the tournament for which the St. Patrick’s team has been practising assiduously for five weeks. The joint managers will be Messrs T. E. Davidso nand H. J. Hickey, who will also act as delegates to the annual conference of the M. 8.0.8. Rugby Football Association. It is understood that there is every prospect of the Spillane Cup tournament being held at Palmerston North next vear.
