The Poliangina Tennis Club s team paid a visit to the local club, when interesting traines wee played, Ihe home team proving the winners by 9 sots to 7 and 82 games to 73. The local Cricket Club played a match during the week-end, at Aokautero against the Longburn Club. Owing to the boistrr ous weather conditions the match had to bo abandoned. Aokautero in the first innings made 11 runs, Longburn being all out for 16. In the 2nd innings Aokautero scored 42. a very fine innings being played by J. O’Neil (23). Bowling for Aokautcre, J. P. Robertson took 4 wickets lor 4 runs and j O’Neil 3 for 6. The Longburn bowlers were W. Francis, junr. (1 for 2), N. Holden (2 for 1), T. Templeton (2 for 2), and C. Francis (2 for 2). Mr H. Francis voiced the thanks of the visitors for the game, while Mr J. P. Robertson replied on behalf of the home side.
