CONCERT AND DANCE

SUCCESSFUL PRESENTATION. A recital by pupils of Aliss Irene Oliver was given on Wednesday evening with the assistance of the City Silver Band. A varied and enjoyable programme was presented at the Empire Hall, before an appreciative audience, all the items being heartily applauded. The following was the programme:—“Overture,” City Band; “Here AYe are Again,” Mr IS. Air and Airs Bensell; “The Gay Nineties” (humorous tap duo). E. Street and N. Ridge; “Playtime” (skipping duo), Joan Rush and Pat Armstrong; “The Silver Nymph,” Edith Oliver; “AYalla AA r alla,” Joan Perrin; Betty Bailey, Shirley Carrie, Nola Ayson, June Cowlishaw, Joy Dunstan, Eileen Dugan; humorous recitation, Airs C. Osman; “Flirtation AYalse,” D. Stokes, E. Street, is. Ridge; “Five Little Blackbirds,” Betty Jenkins (maid); Joan Baker, Betty Bailey. The floor was cleared and a mixed d-Tnee programme follo\\ed, supper also being partaken of. The winners of the lucky spot were Aliss I. Oliver, and Air Iv. Annabell, and the winner, of the cake, Aliss Ala vis Curtis. , Thanks are due to the hand s ladies committee for their handling of the supper and to Air Greening as A 1.0., and Air Hubbard as stage manager; also Air and Airs Bensell for the very enjoyable extra they played, and otlieis who" made the evening a success.
