SCHOOL CRICKET.

LOCAL TEAM WINS. The cricket match between the Wanganui Technical College and the Palmerston North Boys’ High School was concluded yesterday, and resulted in a win for the local side by. an innings and 53 runs. Entering upon their second innings yesterday morning, the visitors opened disastrously and at the fall of ttie fifth wicket only 29 runs were on the board. Whiting and Joyce, however, made a stand, their partnership realising 45. The other individual scores were meagre, the batsmen being unable to make a stand against the bowling of Anderson and Downes, both of whom bowled consistently well. At the luncheon adjournment, 76 were on the board at a loss of 7 wickets. On the resumption the visitors were dismissed for 111. Whiting headed the batting list with 43, but his was the only bright effort of the innings, the second best score being secured by Jones (12, not out). Both Anderson and Downes repeated the good performances with the ball that they put up on the opening day, Anderson taking six wickets at the verv cheno cost of 25 runs and Downes 3 for 43.
