MORE BACONERS EXPORTED. PORKER KILLINGS DECLINE. Tn a statement just issued Mr W. A. Phillips (chairman of the New Zealand Co-operative Pig Marketing Association) states that, while the total of New Zealand exports so far this season have reflected a substantial increase of about 61,000 baconer pigs over the same period last year, there has been a corresponding decrease in porker killings. Consequently the total kill shown is only a small increase on the New Zealand total exports last season. "With the exception of the last three weeks, when pork slumped by nearly Id per lb, the pork market has been Unusually firm this year and a partial recovery p f the market is anticipated. The baconer export market for the current season shows no notable changes. Referring to his company’s opera tions, Mr Phillips says the total number of pigs handled up to the present is over 100,000, representing an increase of 30,000 over last season.
