DAHLIA SHOW.
Citizens are requested to note that the annual Dahlia Show will be held in the Empire Hall on Saturday, March 21. Despite the unfavourable weather conditious of the past month, there is every indication of a good display, several of the loading growers having expressed their intention of being present. There should be keen competition in the section open only to members of any ladies’ gardening circle. During tbe year there will be a competition for two - valuable trophies. Mr W. G. Black has donated a trophy (value 5 guineas) for most points gained in the shows hold during the , year, to ho won twice in succession or three times at intervals. Conditions are sot out in the schedule. The winner for 1935 is Mrs B. M. Mtuiro. “A Well Wisher” has donated a trophy (value £1 Is) for most _ points gained in decorative sections during the year, competitors to compete at least throe shows during the year. Now exhibitors will he welcomed. Tho secretary will be at tho Empire Hall on Friday evening from 7 p.m. to receive entries. If more convenient to exhibitors, exhibits may be staged on Friday evening. Schedules arc obtainable at tho florists’.
