EVANGELISTIC CAMPAIGN.
The United Evangelical Church was crowded on Sunday evening for the final meeting of Mr Millers’ mission. Many extra seats had been brought in and even then young people were sitting on the platform. His subjet was entitled “The Greatest Thief in Palmerston North”—and the greatest thief in the whole world, procrastination. The reading was taken from Luke 12:16-31. and 2 Cor., “Now is the accepted time, now is the day of God’s salvation.” The rich man had said, “I have much goods for many years,” but God said, “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee.” Procrastination was indeed the thief of time, but to how many was it not the thief of eternal salvation? “When God says ‘now is the accepted time,’ He means just that,” the speaker added. “We have come to the last meeting and for many to-night is the night of God’s salvation. To those who continually harden their hearts comes a time when they lose much of their desire for salvation ; the heart becomes hardened and one is less conscious of one’s need. In secular life procrastination is both foolish and dangerous, so, and even more so, is it in the spiritual. To-day is offered in the name of Jesus Christ to ‘whosoever 'will,’- peace with God, joy ever deepening, pardon for all sin, forgiveness and cleansing in the blood of Jesus Christ. To all who harden their hearts comes God’s warning, “My spirit shall not always strive with man.’ So many owe their salvation to the prayers of a Christian mother or father, husband or wife—if still we resist God’s pleading voice how hopeless our position when they are called away. The man who ‘takes a chance’ concerning his salvation is but a fool, for he takes no chance but is deadly sure of eternity in hell. God is indeed a God of love, but let us remember that the same voice which said, “Come until Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden’ also said, “Depart from Me ye workers of iniquity.” Are you saying to-morrow when God says to-night? ‘Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Mrs Miller’s solo dosed a memorable meeting. The testimony of many who have attended the meetings is that every meeting has been the means of great blessing-
