ANNUAL CONFERENCE. Per Press Association. | WELLINGTON, March 17. ! Regret that fewer than half the 6000 Justices of the Peace in New Zealand belonged to the Justices’ Association, v r as expressed by Mr H. H. Seaton, president-elect, at the annual conference of the Federation of_ New Zealand Justices’ Associations, which opened at Wellington to-day. The conference will be continued to-morrow and Thursday, the business being relieved by visits to various institutions and reserves. The delegates were welcomed at a civic reception by the Mayor (Mr T. C. A. Hislop) and‘the conference was opened by Mr B. L. Dallard, Undersecretary for Justice, who asked delegates to remember that upon them rested a grave responsibility to uphold the high traditions of their office and to maintain public confidence in the | administration of justice.
