MATERNAL MORTALITY.
MEDICAL PROBLEM. Received Alarcli 17, 8.5 a.m. AIELBOURNE, Alarcli 17. Dr T. G. Stevens, consulting obstetrician at St. Mary’s Hospital, London, arrived by the liner Alaloja on a holiday visit to Sydney and New Zealand, He said that the reduction of maternal mortality was still a great problem confronting the medical world. There did not seem to be any great advance in this sphere of research, and the wonder was that maternal mortality was not greater.
