MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

When a case was called at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday wherein Leslie Rickard, salesman, of Feilding, was charged that, on or about November 25, at Feilding, ha.ving received the sum of £235 13s 3d from S. H. Parkes on terms requiring him ix> account or pay the same to Messrs Justice and Edmunds, of Palmerston North, he did fraudulently omit to account or pay the sum of £7O 13s 3d, being part of the said £235 13s 3d, and did thereby commit theft, accused did not appear. Detective E. Barling, who appeared for the police, stated that accused had been an inmate of the Public Hospital and would not be able to appear for at least a week. The Magistrate (Mr J. L. Stout) accordingly granted a remand till the 20th inst.
