(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Feb. 12. Mr L. G- Lowry, M.P., is at present on a visit to Dunedin. Mr F. Street appears to be.making splendid progress after his severe injury. Mr Frank Shaw, another patient in the. Palmerston North Hospital, is making steady progress. Rev. Father Cullinanc, who has been stationed at Otaki for a brief period, left to-day to take up his residence at Jerusalem, Wanganui River. Rev. Father Hannah has been appointed to fill the vacancy at Otaki. Miss M. Jackson Smith, daughter of Mr and Mrs IV. Burns Smith, of Otaki, leaves by the Rangitiki on March 10 for the Old Country. Miss Smith, who will ho away for eight months, will visit England, Scotland, and many other places of interest. A meeting of the committee of the Otaki Bowling Club was held last night. It was decided to play a match with the centre on the 16th inst. at Otaki,_ while a letter was read from the centre inviting Otaki to send a rink to Wellington to play against, the IVlanawatu Centre on Wednesday next. It was decided that a rink bo sent. It was reported that Otaki players were in vited to take part in the war veterans’ day at Wellington on the 27th. _ It was agreed to hold a tournament at Otaki on the 29th, and to hold a gala day on the following dav. A plan has been approved of by the Borough Council for the proposed theatre at Otaki.

A Ratepayers’ and Citizens’ Association has been formed in Otaki.
