MINE HOLD-UPS

WEST COASTS INCIDENTS. Per Press Association. GREYAIOUTH, Feb. 12. .-Both the Dobson and Wallsend mines were rendered idle to-day through disputes. In the case of the Dobson mine the union members met this morning at the bathhouse, when it was decided that, as a protest against certain conditions in the Dobson mine as revealed by the workmen’s inspectors, the men should return home. Officials are to interview the Government inspectors, and work will be resumed to-morrow, when the inspectors will examine the mine.

Tho dispute at Wallsend concerns the union solely, three men refusing to pay an additional levy imposed to assist the National Council in sending a delegate to Russia. The union has referred the matter to the president of the Aliners’ Federation, an! the mine will not work until a reply is received.
