The result of the Ross and Cromarty by-election, the polling in which took place yesterday, was announced tonight. Russell-Thomas (Lib) 738 Majority for MacDonald ... 2982 The result was not known till late to-night, owing to the remoteness of many parts of the constituency, from Dingwall, where the count was made. One ballot-box at least had to cover part of the journey by air.
