In the House of Commons, Mr A. Duff-Cooper said that just over £400,000 was spent last year on the purchase of Dominion frozen meat for the Army and Air Force at Home and £2OOO on the purchase of fresh meat. The extra cost of supplying home-killed instead of Dominion meat was estimated at about £350,000 a year, which, apart from the administrative difficulties, was prohibitive as far as the Army fund« were concerned.
