SOCIAL CREDIT.
CONFERENCE OPENS. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 20. Dissatisfaction with the present monetary system and confidence that a better system could be evolved comprised the general tenor of the speeches at the opening session of the annual conference of the New Zealand Douglas Social Credit movement at New Plymouth to-day. Delegates were welcomed bv the Mayor (Mr E. R. C. Gilmour), Mr S. G. Smith, M.P., and representatives of local bodies. Great enthusiasm was shown by delegates The speakers included Captain H. M. Rushworth, M.P., Mrs Graham, Mr A. C. A. Sexton, M.P., Mr C. A. Barrell. M.P., and Mr W. J. Jordan, M.P. In the next three days meetings will be held throughout North Taranaki.
