BRIGHT OUTLOOK.

MANAWATU’S BIG TEST. VISIT OF M.C.C. TEAM. The improvement in the weather conditions was welcomed by local cricketers and supporters of the game who have been looking forward to the visit of the AI.C.C. cricket team which is to meet Manawatu at the Sportsground on Wednesday and Thursday. The local game will prove to be a big test for the holders of the Hawke Cup, and home supporters are confident that Manawatu will give a good account of themselves. In preparation for Wednesday, a band of workers have been engaged in marking off the grandstand and subsidiary stands and it is now possible for intending patrons to reserve their seats without any extra charge. Forms will also be placed inside the oval railing and the occupants will thus have an excellent view of the game without interfering with the view of those in the stands behind them or in the ears which will be allowed to park, nose-in, around the railings on the southern side. For the convenience of those who wish to picnic in the grounds or under the shade of the trees in the Esplanade, gate passes will be obtainable from the gate-keeper stationed at the gate leading to the children’s playground.
