CRICKETERS’ SORROW.
MEMORIES OF THE KING. LOVABLE INTEREST. BLOEMFONTEIN, Jan. 20. The Australian cricketers are deeply concerned over tire illness of tlie King. Oldfield, who personally met His Majesty on lour occasions, recalled the visit of tlie Australian cricketers to AVindsor Castle in 19:34, when they had aiternoon tea with Their Majesties.
“Then, as on our previous trips to England, tlie King showed a keen personal and intelligent interest in cricket, and we were all deeply touched by tlie lovable and fatherly interest displayed in tlie visitors, particularly those from tlie Dominions.”
Among .. Grimmett’s and Barnett’s most treasured possessions are cinematograph records of the team’s visit to AVindsor Castle on that occasion.
