Rev. G. C. Reay, minister of the Moruington Baptist Church, Dunedin, has accepted a call to Hamilton.

Professor G. S. Peren, principal of Massey College, has returned to Palmerston’ North with Mrs Peren and their family- after spending the holidays at Muritai, AA’ellington. ltev. Brother Francis, for the past three years director of AVanganni Marist Brothers’ School, has been appointed director of the Marist Brothers’ School, Vermont Street, Auckland.

The apointment of Mr G. A. Lewin as town clerk of Dunedin lias been extended for a further year. Mr Lewin received the congratulations of councillors last night on the completion of 25 years’ service in his present position. Dr. Murray A. Falconer, of the Otago Medical School, has been ailpointed house physician to Lord Horder at Hammersmith, the British postgraduate hospital. Lord Horder is physician-in-ordinary to the Prince of AVales and is one of His Majesty’s physicians. Mr Edward Charles Prendeville, a member of the staff of the Justice Department, AA’ellington, died yesterday morning, at the age of 48 years. Born at Makara, Mr Prendeville was educated at St. Patrick’s College, and after leaving college entered the Justice Department as a clerk. In 1912 he obtained a position with the Australian Bank of Commerce. He was very- popular with the members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force at the front. In liis youth he had studied law, and lie was in great demand in France as counsel for soldiers up for court-martial. On his return to New Zealand he joined the staff of the Public Trust, and later was transferred back to the Justice Department. He leaves a widow and five children. He was a brother of Mr J. Prendeville, of the Crown Law Office, who is chairman of the AA’ellington Rugby Union, Mr J. H. Prendeville, manager of the New Zealand Fisheries, Chatham Islands, and Mr N. AV. Prendeville, of Makara. Mrs H. Bates, of Levin, is a sister.
