ELLSWORTH RESCUE

EXPLORER’S GRATITUDE. (British Official Wireless.) Received January 20, 12.0 noon. RUGBY, Jan. 18. A radio message from the master of the Discovery 11. states that it is expecting to meet Sir Hubert Wilkins iu the Ellsworth base ship Wyatt Earp in the Bay of Whales on Sunday. Mr Lincoln Ellsworth and Mr T. HolliclcKenyon. who are aboard the Discovery, are well. A congratulatory message to the master ot the Discovery has been sent by the Minister for Colonies (Mr J. H. Thomas), who described the mission as a fine piece of work. The Discovery Committee in London has received the following wireless message from Mr Ellsworth: “Mr Kenyon and I arc deeply grateful for the extraordinary effort which you, through the officers and crew of the Discovery, have put forward on our behalf and assure you most sincerely how much we feel the honour which has been accords ed us by the Discovery Committee and the Australian Government, and we cannot thank you enough for all that has been done. —Ellsworth.”

Lyons has received ilie following radio message from Air Ellsworth, aboard the Discovery:—“Air Kenyon and I are deeply grateful for the extraordinary effort which your Government, through the Royal Australian Aie Force, put forward on our behalf. AVe assure you most sincerely how much we feel the honour you have' accorded us, and we cannot thank you enough for all that has been done for us.”
