CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES.
Life was the subject of the LessonSermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, January 19. The Golden Text was I John 5: 11: “This is the record-, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.”
Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible:—“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall 1 be afraid?” “The fear, of the Lord tendeth to life; and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.” (Psm. 27 : 1: Prov. 19 : 23.) Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,” by Mary Baker Eddy:—“God is Divine Life, and Life is no more confined to the forms which reflect it than substance is in its shadow.” “Because Life is God. Life must he eternal, self-existent. Life is the everlasting I am, the Being Who was and is and shall be, Whom nothing can erase.” (pp. 331, 291.)
