OBITUARY.

MRS ROBERT ROBINSON. On December 12 there passed away at Palmerston North a lady who had gained the respect of all who knew her Mrs Janet Robinson (nee Thomson), in her 80th year. Born at the port of Nelson on board a ship which had just arrived from England, Mrs Robinson was a pioneer in the real sense of the word, all her life having been spent in New Zealand, and particularly in the Marlborough district, where her family was one of the I earliest. She was married to the late IMr Robert Robinson at Blenheim 62 years ago, and lived for a while in the South Island, and coming to the North Island in 1902. In 1922 Mr Robinson died in Eeilding and since then the deceased lady had continued to reside in the district. There are left to mourn the Joss of a devoted mother five daughters and three sons to whom much sympathy has been extended. The daughters are Mesdames D. B. Sullivan (Tuamarina), L. Schwass (Blenheim), F. W. Rasmussen (Palmerston North), E. A. Brown (Palmerston North), A. E. Hay (Opiki). The sons are are Messrs W. Robinson (Wanganui), John (Tangunai) and Robert (Aorangi). The funeral took place at the family ground in the Eeilding cemetery, being preceded by a service at the home. Rev. Mr Page, of Feikling, and Rev. J. C. Macky, of Palmerston North, officiating and paying a tribute to the memory and passing of a true -Christian lady. The pall bearers w'ere Messrs C. Robinson, J. Hay, F. W. Rasmussen, W. Robinson, J. Robinson and Noel Robinson (grandson). Mrs Robinson also leaves 30 grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children. Mrs Thos. Watson, of Feilding, is a sister, while two sons, James and Thomas, made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War and another daughter, Mrs Robertson, died in 1923.
