PERSONAL.
Mr G. T. Poole, stationmaster’s clerk at Palmerston North, returns to duty to-morrow after being on his annual leave. Mr G. R. Milward, who has been acting-chief engineer of the Southland County Council, was yesterday appointed to act permanently in that capacity while Mr B. C. Basstian, who has long been associated with the county as chief engineer, _ takes over certain special engineering works.
