DOLLAR MILLIONAIRES.
DECREASE IN AMERICA. WASHINGTON, Dec. 6. The Treasury revealed to-day a decline of over 30 per cent, in the number of incomes of 1,000,000 dollars or more between 1933 and 1934 in the United States, namely, from 46 persons, reporting such returns, to 32, the totals being 81,559,000 dollars and 56,659.000. The taxes paid, however, by these persons increased from 25,848,000 dollars in 1933 to 31,611,000 dollars in 1934.. The high point in million-dollar incomes was reached in 1929 with 513, totalling 1,212,000.000 dollars, with a tax payment of 191,000,000.
