IN ERUPTION.
ISLAND IN PACIFIC. SUVA, Dec. 7. Niuafoou Island erupted at 12.50 this morning, lava pouring into the sea, but over the 1929 lava field. The inhabitants of one village have left as a precaution, otherwise all is safe.
The island of Niuafoou is situated in the Pacific Ocean north-east of the Fijian group.
