OBITUARY.

PAYMASTER-CAPTAIN BUTCHER. LONDON, Sept. 27. The death has occurred of Paymas-ter-Captain Reginald Butcher. Paymaster-Captain Butcher, who was aged 55, was promoted Paymaster in 1911, Staff-Paymaster in _1915, mast’er-Commauder in 1917, and Pay-master-Captain in 1928. From 1923 to 1926 lie was secretary to the New Zealand Naval Board, and in 1926 was placed on t*e retired .list. He was decorated for' service to the senior naval office at Gibraltar and to the Admiral Commanding at the Orkney and Shetland Islands. He was awarded the M V.O. in 1909, and the C.M.G. in 1919.
