WAPPING BLAZE CONTINUES. LONDON, Sept. 26. It is expected that it will bo several days before the Wapping fire is extinguished. It spread to an adjoining warehouse to-day, but was controlled. The district is soot-laden, and schools and tenements are uninhabitable. AFTER FORTY-ONE HOURS. FIRE UNDER CONTROL. (British Official Wireless.) Received Septeml>er 28, 11.20 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 27. After 41 hours’ continuous work by the forces of the London Fire Brigades, drawn from all parts of the metropolis, confidence was expressed this morning that all fears that the great riverside fire would spread to the adjoining warehouses were now set at rest. The fire is not yet entirely subdued, and another shattering explosion caused by the ignition of gases burst open an iron door this morning, and tongues of flame leapt out, further endangering the firemen, who throughout have been exposed to great risk; but the removal of the door permitted of jets of water being played on the seat of the fire, which is now regarded as being under complete control.

The fire has resulted in heavy losses. It is estimated that about 2000 tons of rubber have been destroyed and 1000 tons damaged, while large sums are involved in the loss of copper and spelter, which were stored in the premises which have been burned out.
