FEDERAL SENATE.
VACANCY FILLED. Received September 27, 8.0 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 27. At a joint sitting of the New South Wales Parliament, Mr J. G. Arkins, a former member of the State Parliament, was elected to the Commonwealth Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr L. T. Courtenay.
