For the past week the butter market in London has displayed an active tendency. The tone of the cheese market has been firm. Current quotations are as follow, those ruling the previous week being included in parentheses: — Danish, 130 (128 s). Choicest salted: New Zealand, 115 s to 116 s (110 s to Ills). Australian, 114& to 115 s (110 s to Ills). Unsalted: New Zealand, 2s premium (2s premium); Australian, 2s premium (2s premium). Cheese.—New Zealand: Coloured, 58s (5"4* 6d); white, 58s (555;, Australian: Coloured, 56s (53s 6d); white, 56s (545). There is little available. AWAHURI COMPANY. SHIPMENT REALISES 117 s CWT. Cabled advice was received by the Awaliuri Dairy Company this morning that a shipment of its butter had realised 117 s a cwt, commanding a premium 5f 2s a cwt. over the general market quotation of 115 s ruling at the time. There is reported to be an almost complete absence of forward buying locally.
