THIRSTY RATS.
GNAW THROUGH LEAD PIPES
The Drummoyne Council. New South Wales, was informed by its health inspector recently that a resident had complained that damage to the amount of £8 had been caused by rats gnawing through lead waste pipes in search of water. He stated that he had advised the complainant to place dishes of water about, his place, and on the third day to provide a supper of biscuits, cheese, and “paste.” "The rats enjoyed the supper, and the complainant has not seen them since,” Mr Stewart concluded.
