WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. While there -was not much change in prices, the Wellington stock and share markets showed a much improved tone [ yesterday, leading investments ' being in stronger demand than has been the case for some days. Government loans were I rather dull. Bank issues held more interI est yesterday, most of the listed issues being in demand. New Zealand sold at 50s 4d, Resorvo Bank at £6 8s 6d, and Union at. £9 2s 6d. Others showed no change. , Financial and pastoral shares were quiet. J Goldsbrough Mort weakened at 29s 3d, sellI ers 29s 9d. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile were firm at £35 10s. _ Mortgage Corporation were easier on business at 5s j sd, but buyers stayed in at 5s 6d. South [ British Insurance eased to a sale at 935, more being wanted at 925. New Zealand Refrigerating, 10s paid, showed little change in sales at 10s Id to 10s 2d. Southland Meat were firm on business at 80s. New Zealand Breweries were Is up at 51s, sellers 525. and Booths firmed to 545. Miscellaneous industrial and trading issues wore once more in keen demand, and showed a firming tendency. Anthony Hordern were 4d lip at 18s 6d, and Colonial Sugar improved to £42 15s. Broken Hill Proprietary were unchanged at 535, sellers 565, the “rights” being quoted at 21s 9d, sellers 23s 9d. Howard Smith were wanted at 17s 6d, but sellers held for Is better.
