A COLLECIOR'S TREASURES.— At the Loan Exhibition, of Antiques, at Auckland, major items of interest will be Captain G. Humphrey s-Davies's collection of early Chinese ceramics. Captain Davies has travelled into many out-of-the-way places of the world seeking these unique pieces. Above are shown two beautiful gold-lacquer Japanese dower chests. On the top are three items of interest—a Chinese rose dish found in Auckland, a valuable peach-bloom bottle found in a shop in Hong Kong, and a sacrificial wine jar, which was his first valued possession. This exhibition, which was opened to-day by Lady Galway, has been arranged on behalf of the Plunket Society, and the Girl Guide Association.
