HOSPITAL SYSTEM.
NEW ZEALAND DEFENDED,
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. , Dr Elliott, of Wellington, who was a delegate to the B.M.A. meeting at Melbourne, returned by the Wanganella to-day. In an interview he spoke of the criticism of the New Zealand hospital system by Dr Dain, ■ o,f England, and Lord Border. Dr Elliott said there was no opportunity for a reply to tho attacks, and the accusers appeared to rely partly upon their imagination for their facts and on ancient history as a reflection of modern progress. Dr Elliott quoted one of the leading surgeons of England, speaking at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, on what ho considered the ideal hospital system, and “lo and behold, it looked like .the twin, sister of our New Zealand system.”
