(From Our Own Correspondent.) OHAKEA, Sept. 25. There was a good attendance at the weekly practice hold on the miniature rifle range on Monday. Single possibles were recorded by P. Ellery, J. Simpson, _ K. Bailey, and L. Koberstein. The individual scores are as follow: —I’. Elierv, 70—69 —139; K. Bailey, J. Simpson, G. Wiggins, 69 69 —138; Li. Koberstein, E. Simpson, 69 — 68—137; F. Simpson, S. Quinlan, 67 —68 — 135; H. Ellery, G. Robinson, Gordon Gray, W. Robinson, 67—67—134; Desmond Ellery, J. Elierv, A. Lammas, 61 —67 —128; Dennis Ellery, 60—56—116; C-lasford Gray, 65. The following have reached the finals for Messrs Collinson and Son’s trophy: G. Wiggins, H. Ellery, E. Simpson, Gordon Gray, G. Robinson and L. Koberstein. Two teams were entered in the Whitcombe and Caldwell Cup competition. The A team finished 20lh with a score 735, and the B team were 42nd with a score of 725. The individual scores arc as follows: —A team : K. Bailey, J. Simpson 148, H. Ellery, P. Ellery 147, E. Simpson 145; total, 735,_ B team': G. Wiggins, L. Koberstein, F. Simpson 147, N. Leet, W. Robinson 142: total, 725. In the season’s aggregate the Ohakea competitors scored as follow : —H. Ehcry 836, K. Bailey 834, N. Loet 830, P. Eilery 830, F. Simpson 830, G. Wiggins 820. Miss I. Burton, of Wellington, who has been the guest of Mr F. Simpson, has returned to her home. Mr H. Redpath baa returned from a short visit to Auckland. The friends of Mr I. N. Leet will be pleased to learn that there is much improvement in the health of his mother. Air H. Ellery has been appointed as one of the target scrutineers for the Wanganui District Miniature Rifle Association’s championship meeting to be held on October 5.
