HAWKE’S BAY CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY BRINSDEN. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Sept. 13. FI. B. Brinsden (Auckland) won the Hawke's Bay provincial golf championship to-day. at AVaiohiki, beating L. A. Reid (AVaipukurau) one up. During the tournament J. Graham, of AA’anganui College, a son of Mr and Mrs J. Graham, of Feilditig, eliminated Ivapi Tareha, the title-holder, 3 and 2 in the first round. Graham is on the 10-handicap mark and in beating Tarelia on his own course did very well. Graham failed to survive the second round. L. A. Reid beating him in a hard-fought match, 2 and 1.

The annual schoolboys’ cup compe tition was played at Hokowhitu during the holidays and attracted keen interest. The winner was A. Johns (Palmerston North Boys’ High School) with S. Hooper (AVaitaki) run-ner-up. P'ollowing are tire aggregate points:—A. Johns (P.N.8.H.5.) 11 1; S. Hooper (AVaitaki), 8 2; E. Elliott (Auckland Grammar) 7 3; J. AVills (AA’anganui Collegiate) 0 4; D. Hewat (Christ’s College) 4 5.
