TEACHER FAREWELLED.
PRESENTATION TO MISS E. At. BLAND. Members of the staff of the Terrace End School, together with Mr 11. O. R. Blackwood, representing tiie School Committee, entertained Miss E. M. Bland at morning tea to-day, Miss Bland having been transferred to the Central School. A presentation, from the staff, of a Devon ware jug, was made by the headmaster (Air A. IV. Thompson). In making the presentation to Miss Bland, who had been a teacher at the school since April 1, 1927, attached to the infant department, Air Thumpson said she had given faithful and conscientious service. Ail regretted that circumstances had arisen under which she had been transferred by tbe Wanganui Education Board. Mr Thompson expressed to Miss Bland appreciation of the way in which she had carried out her duties, wishing her success and just as happy a time at the Central School, her new post, as she had had at Terrace End. Mr Blackwood supported the remarks of Air Thompson, on behalf of the members of the committee, also expressing appreciation of Aliss Bland’s work. In the course of her reply, Aliss Bland said she was sorry to leave the staff at Terrace End. She had enjoyed her stay there and regretted the circumstances of school attendances which had brought about her transfer.
