THE NILE FLOOD
A RECORD EXPECTED. STEPS FOR CONTROL. VOTE OF £75,000. (United Press Association—By Electric Tel egr ap h. —Co py r igh t.) Received August 27, 11.15 a.in. CAIRO, Aug. 26. The Nile continues to rise, and it is now certain that there will be a record flood. The Government has voted extra credit to the extent of £75,000 towards strengthening the banks. Precautions arc being taken to prevent tho flooding of streets when the waters reach Cairo in a couple of days’ time.
