RUGBY FOOTBALL.
The curtain raiser, played at 1.30 p.m., to the big representative fixture, Manawatu v. Wairarapa, on the oval to-morrow, will be between Pirates and Ivowhai, the only two teams who were beaten but once each in twelve games played in the Wednesday competition, and a good even game should result as neither team is afraid to throw the ball about. The Pirates team is as follows:—Creed ; Robertson, Prisk, Lane, Gardner, Quigg, Stubbs, Me Ivor, Dynes, Missen Rain, Berkahn, Gittings, McNeile, Harris, Polglase, Thomas.
WAIRARAPA TEAM. The Wairarapa Rugby team to meet Manawatu is as follows: Full-back.—Henderson. Three-quarters. Bnick, Fuller, Stringfellow. Five-eighths.—Clark, Martelli. Half-back. —Habbib. Forwards. - Grantham, Trass, Laing, Fanils, Devine, Gaudin, Reid, Howard.
Emergencies.—Forwards, Hood and Rosyth. Backs: Hume and Stroud.
