MATRON APPOINTED.
AWAPUNI HOME. After narrowing the numerous applicants down to four, who were personally interviewed by the executive, the Palmerston North Hospital Board, yesterday afternoon, decided to appoint Sister H. Wright, one of its own ward sisters, as matron of the Old People’s Home at Awapuni in succession to Miss A. Griffin, who recently left the board’s service to become matron of the Cashmere sanatoria.
Sister Wright lias been on the Palmerston North Hospital staff for two and a half years, and holds general surgical and midwifery certificates. She has held positions ns relieving sister-in-charge at the Isolation Hospital, Rotorua, ward sister in the Tnuranga Hospital, and conducted, in partnership, a private hospital in Auckland for five years.
